A major retrospective exhibition of Pete's work spanning six decades will open at the National Library of Wales on March 4th. It will be shown until mid June

The Arts Council of Wales has awarded Pete a grant to complete new bodies of work in the Welsh landscape which will be shown as part of the retrospective exhibition opening in March 2017.
Pete's work will be seen in two exhibitions this year. At Oriel Colwyn in March and at the new gallery 'Storiel' in Bangor.
2015: It's confirmed that a major retrospective exhibition of Pete's work will open at the National Library of Wales in March 2017 to co-incide with his 70th. birthday. The show will run for three months and feature work from the early 1960's to his most recent, ongoing projects.
2014: Begins a new body of work in collaboration with the Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Wales, Trinity St. David, Lampeter. The work, to be published in book form deals with the ancient and contemporary Landscape of a community on the fringes of the Cambrian Mountains.
2013: Begins reviewing, editing and re-printing work from the past fifty years in prepararation for a proposed major retrospective exhibition
November 2012 Pete was a part of the exhibition at the University of Wales, Newport to celebrate a hundred years of the teaching of photography at Newport.
November 20th. 2010, will see Pete speaking at the 'Lens 2010' conference at the national Library of Wales. He will talk about his work in Ireland, Sardinia, Portugal and the USA and how the images can be related to, and reflect the social history similar motifs in Wales.

2010 In March The National Library of Wales purched 20 large prints from the'Wildwood' portfolio to add to its already substantial collection of Pete's work.
January 2010 Pete was elected to become a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
August 2009, Pete was awarded a Ph.D in Fine Art from Aberystwyth University. The research and submission included the 'Wildwood' exhibition, the book 'In Wildwood' and a thesis entitled 'An Investigation of the Photographic interpretation of Woodland and Forests'.
June 2009 Pete gave a public lecture at the Univertsity of Ulster and led a masterclass in an around Belfast as part of the Ulster Arts Festival.
May 2009 Pete has been invited to lead a weeks masterclass at the Instituto Politécnico do Porto. He will be with the master's photography students leading work on location and in the studios on large format photography.
March 2009 'Wildwood' the exhibition opens at the FotoMuseum Antwerp on March 19th. Pete will be giving a talk on his work on Friday 20th.
February 2009: New book 'In Wildwood' now published and available: The publishers and printers have produced a wonderful monograph. It is 240 x 300mm, 96 pages, with 48 full-page illustrations, beautifully printed. Hard cover, cloth-bound with just jacket, and an embossed title on the cloth cover. It has an introduction by myself, and an appreciation by Conway Lloyd Morgan. The ISBN is: 978-3-03778-142-5

Conference in Toronto: Pete has been invited to present a paper at the University of Toronto In August to the North American Association for the Study of Welsh Culture and History. The paper will examine the social history of certain Welsh forests and how this impacts on their visual representation.
Exhibition in Italy: Opening July 12th. in Laas, northern Italy, new work by Pete can be seen in a group exhibition titled 'Perspectives'. This new group of images examines the changing face of rural communities in relation to memorial, church and village halls which have formed an important part of the comunities within which they are located. The triptychs examine these structures, and also the physical changes in the villages within which they are located, to reflect the social evolution of those communities over the generations.

2008: Exhibition: The full 'Wildwood' exhibition of nearly 30 large scale colour prints, plus a number of smaller images will open at Aberystwyth Arts Centre on May 24th. with the private view on Friday May 23rd. The exhibition will be opened by Professor Alistair Crawford, research professor at Aberystwyth University School of Art. Pete will be giving a public lecture relating to his work in the exhibition at the Arts Centre cinema on Friday evening, June 20th.
March 2008: Radio broadcast: Pete can be heard talking about his work in a BBC Radio Wales programme about the influence of the mountain Cadair Idris on artists and writers. This will be broadcast on March 13th. at 18.30, and repeated on March 16th.
February 2008: Exhibition: A selection of images from the 'Wildwood' series will be on show at Bolton Museum and Art Gallery from Saturday February 2nd. to Saturday May 3rd.

2007: Exhibition: Opening September 8th. to November 3rd., Pete's work on 'Cader Idris' will be shown at Carmarthen County Museum, Abergwili, Carmarthenshire. Pete will also be giving a talk, 'The Enigma of Cader Idris, tracing the history of the visual representationon of the mountain at the museum. The private view is at 7pm. Friday September 7th.
2007: Radio Interview: On Thursday August 16th. Pete was interviewed about his work on Cader Idris for a radio programme to be broadcast in the new year. The programme will feature a number of artists for whom Cader Idris has played an important part in their work.
March 2007: Exhibition: In March, opening March 17th., in Florence, Italy, Pete will have work in a group exhibition- 'Landed', with other members of the Centre for Photographic Research at the School of Art, Media & Design, University of Wales, Newport.
February 2007: TV Appearance: As mentioned below, Pete wil be appearing on BBC2W on Monday February 19th. at 9.45 on a programme entitled 'Lampeter Lives'
February 2007: Lecture: On Tuesday February 20th. , Pete has been invited to give a lecture for the Contemporary Art Society for Wales in Cardiff.
January 5th. 2007 Pete is being interviewed and filmed today for a BBC 2 Wales programme on Lampeter and some of the creative people who live in the area. Watch this space for transmission details.
January 1st. 2007 Pete Davis has just been awarded a CCAT, (Cultural Cooperation and Touring) grant funded by the European Community in conjunction with Wales Art International and Aberystwyth Arts Centre. This will be used to exhibit part of his 'Wildwood' work in Ireland. It will open at St. Michael's Theatre, New Ross, co. Wexford on January 21st., and then on to the Watergate Gallery, Kilkenny.
